Criticism of government to continue but won’t solve problems, says Mahathir
Tun Dr Mahathir had said that criticising the government can continue but it will not solve problems and lead to people suffering.
Dr Mahathir on Thursday (Aug 5) hosted his own national recovery council online meeting which included the Director-General of Health.
In the council were also politicians that he believed had the desire to do something about the pandemic.
The Director-General of Health, Dr Noor Hisham began the meeting with a detailed rundown of the current situation and solutions to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.
The former Prime Minister told that similarly to white flag bearers being helped by Malaysians, the council sought to offer solutions to issues the people are facing.
He said Malaysia raised the white flag the moment Covid-19 cases increased from five digits to 20,000.
“My friends and I can no longer keep quiet and let the situation continue. With the experience and expertise on hand, we will give our views which we hope will be used by the government,” he added.
The Langkawi lawmaker explained that the council does not have any political interest of political parties or individuals.
The council looks for ways to help the country overcome the disaster.
