Teacher sues form 5 activist for RM 1 million
A form 5 student who exposed a secondary school teacher for alleged rape jokes has been sued for RM 1 million on Wednesday, August 4.
Ain Husniza Saiful Nizam who drove the #MakeSchoolASaferPlace movement, posted on Instagram that she received a defamation suit.
The suit was delivered by the law firm of Rasshidi Eman & Yung while she was attending her online class.
In the letter, it said she was given seven days to reply and settle the million-ringgit suit.
The SPM student did not expand on what the ‘defamatory statements’ were.
Her father, Saiful Nizam Abdul Wahab on Facebook posted that the letter was for his daughter, his wife and himself.
He added that the family will seek more advice on their rights and next course of action. Saiful will not be commenting on anything else following the advice of their lawyer.
Ain said, “All I ask is for everyone to pray for me that everything will be made easier.”
The Instagram post received more than 5,000 likes and 400 comments. Numerous Malaysians have been sharing positive comments in support of her.
