Water is a gift of life as without it we won’t be able to survive. Our daily survival needs wouldn’t be met as we won’t be able to drink water to stay hydrated, cook, take a bath, do our laundry and even rinse our mouth after brushing our teeth.
Clean water is also important for us as this will prevent us from contracting diseases. Before consuming drinking water, it is best to have it filtered or properly boiled to ensure that no disease-causing organisms such as viruses, bacteria, and parasites are alive.
We are advised to drink around at least 8 glasses of water daily as we will lose fluids from our body due to sweating, urinating and bowel movements. We will get dehydrated if we do not drink enough water. One of the symptoms of dehydration is headache and by drinking enough water, the headache would go away after a few hours.
When we drink enough water, we would also have a healthier skin as water moisturises our skin. Our skin will appear softer, smoother because water helps flush out toxins from our body.
There are a few ways that we could use water wisely. One way is to not leave your tap running when you are brushing your teeth. When washing dishes, you should also adjust your water setting based on the amount of dishes you wash. You could also soak your vegetables in a bowl instead of under running water. The water could also be used to water house plants.
It is also wise to call a plumber to fix leaks at home and also report issues on burst pipes to the relevant authorities if you spot any when you’re out. This will help save gallons of water from being wasted.
We all could do our part to use water wisely. Remember that water is precious and we should use it wisely.
