The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah have thanked the United Kingdom for donating AstraZeneca vaccines on Tuesday, August 3.
In a Facebook social media post by Istana Negara, the royals said that donating 415,000 Covid-19 vaccines showed that the two countries have good relations.
The friendship between the government and people has been there for a long time.
The statement added, “Hopefully the supply of this vaccine will help boost the country in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and intensify the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK).”
The Agong also extended his gratitude to British High Commissioner to Malaysia, Charles Hay.
Senior Minister of Foreign Affairs, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin and Health Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba was mentioned and thank them for making the donations possible.
The Majesties urged the citizens of Malaysia to continue to pray that Allah will protect the nation, to be free from the current crisis and allow the Covid-19 pandemic to be under control.
