During the lockdown, we could take up a new hobby such as learning a foreign language during our free time.
There are different fun ways in which we could learn a new language. One of them is to watch movies where the actors and actresses converse in the language you want to learn. When you switch on the subtitles in your native language or a language you are familiar with, it makes learning easier after a few rounds of watching.
Another way is to befriend a native speaker of a particular language online. There are many pen pal websites where you could set up a profile and make friends from all over the world. Doing a language exchange is also a good way to teach others while learning another language. It could also be fun as you will have a friend teaching and correcting your grammar or pronunciation mistakes.
Language learners could also learn languages online through Duolingo or Rosetta Stone. They provide quick, bite-size lessons for learners to learn language the fun and easy way.
Learners could also learn a foreign language by listening to songs and checking out the meaning of the lyrics whenever they could. You could also read a story in a foreign language with the translation of your native language provided.
Lastly, you may take up an online course for beginners on the particular language that you are interested in learning. These courses would teach you all the basic grammar and greetings which you need to know as a beginner. You may proceed to take up an intermediate course after you complete the beginner’s level.
