Obesity is a common issue in Malaysia as many people enjoy eating and we tend to eat over 3 meals a day. Malaysia is a food heaven and during the period of lockdown, it is easy for us to order food by delivery as food gets delivered right at our doorstep.
The excess consumption of food with high fat content and beverages with high sugar level would make someone become obese. Someone who is sedentary and lacks exercise would also become obese. Being overweight and obese would result in various diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure and heart related problems.
As such, it is important for us to maintain a healthy lifestyle by exercising regularly and eating balanced meals. Walking up the stairs or a brisk walk in the park could also make us fit and healthy.
Parents should teach their kids the importance of eating healthy and physical activity as it is important for children to start young. Parents should also act as role models and consume more fruits and vegetables daily. For those who are suffering from obesity, it is best to get a doctor’s advice before starting on any exercise regime.
A healthy weight is essential in maintaining a healthy body. There are many fun YouTube fitness tutorials which we can follow along to while exercising at home. You could even invite your family members to join you for exercise
