Music is universal and everyone enjoys listening to their favourite genre of music. Learning music can be exciting, a good stress reliever and also fun. Although at times, it can be difficult and requires lots of practice, patience and determination. Music is also a form of self-expression.
When someone studies music or learns how to play a musical instrument, this helps stimulate the brain and is beneficial for him or her. It also helps in improving memory and concentration as people who learn music would need to memorise music notes. Music also enables one to display creativity and develop confidence when one performs in public or on stage.
Music education also provides many advantages for a kid’s school performance as it assists in child development and skills for school. Music is also inter-related to memory, language, emotional intelligence and intellectual thinking. Some studies even revealed that music helps a child to develop his or her cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains.
When a child learns music, the left side of the brain associated with language learning is stimulated. As such, children who learn music would enjoy learning a second language. These children would also possess good mathematical skills.
Parents who are interested in cultivating the passion and interest of music in their children could enrol their kids in music school or music lessons. Allowing your kids to learn to play their favourite musical instruments and their musical lessons would be an enjoyable journey.
