Watching and monitoring the buzz that goes on in social media nowadays it is clearly evident that a growing number of Malaysians are beginning to hurl insults and abuse at authority figures in a blatant show of disrespect.
This comes as no surprise as for some time now Malaysians have gone into a state of turmoil and confusion over the directives and instructions given by authority figures especially over combating the Covid-19 pandemic.
This is why there is growing spite, venom and vitriol being lambasted on leaders of this country from both sides of the divide, castigating them for the way and manner in which they display their poor and inferior leadership skills.
The proof of the pudding is in the eating. Malaysians for so long have suffered the bad taste of the skills, knowledge and ability of their politicians that they have lost a lot of respect for their leaders who do not basically practise what they preach.
When a leader fails to command respect it is virtually impossible to govern and rule as people will not pay heed to you and be disobedient and at loggerheads with you. This is why there are so many people still violating the SOP with regards to the Covid-19 pandemic.
All this bodes evil for the nation because the rakyat is not in agreement with the government. Unless and until there is a meeting of minds between the people of Malaysia and its government things will stagnate and even regress.
And this is what we are witnessing now and it is most clearly evident through social media that there has to be a change of government soon or the Quality-of-Life in the country will continue to deteriorate.
