According to a paper led by Rachel Buxton, a conservation biologist at Canada’s Carleton University, it was stated that spending time in nature has various benefits such as improved mood and cognitive performance to decreased heart activity and also sensitivity to pain.

Many people who enjoy spending time in nature tend to be more relaxed, calmer and happier. For those who are stressed from work, visiting places of nature and observing nature would play an important part in relaxation. When you’re in a place of nature, try paying attention to the sound of trickling water, birds chirping or even dry leaves rustling in the wind. The smell of greenery and these nature sounds will make your stress levels go away.

When we view scenes of nature and spend more time at places such as parks, woodlands, areas with a lake, mountains and even beaches, it would greatly benefit our mental and physical health. Studies have shown that people who live at greener urban areas are more relaxed and experience lower levels of anxiety.

As such, it is best to spend time in nature whenever we are free. A walk in a park at your neighbourhood would help make your stress levels go away.
