We all know that exercise is beneficial for our health. Exercise not only improves our physical fitness, it also controls our blood pressure, reduces the risk of getting diseases and strengthens our heart. Exercise is also a great way to de-stress and it also helps us to get a good night’s sleep.
Regular exercise would help in maintaining one’s body weight. Although we are busy with work, it is important for us to find time to exercise. Exercise releases endorphins, which are chemicals that relieve stress and make us happy.
Exercise activities should be fun and enjoyable in order for us to keep it up. However, one shouldn’t push oneself too much as it might lead to muscle strain or physical injury. Thus, it’s best to keep in mind safety precautions during exercise.
Some simple exercises that we could do when we are at home during the lockdown would be walking up and down the stairs, gardening, exercising along to workout videos on YouTube or doing housework. Patients with diabetes should consult their doctors before starting an exercise routine. Small amount of physical activity will also bring us a significant amount of health benefits.
Staying sedentary for too long isn’t healthy. If we have to be in front of our computers working, it’s best to do some simple stretches after an hour or two before continuing with our work.
Start exercising today and you will be on the way to a healthier life and a happier you!
